Julie Rebels

Yoga instructor for a flexible mind and stronger body.

I'm a Yoga Teacher.

I am a trauma-informed registered instructor with Yoga Alliance available for individual, group or corporate wellness instruction. My cheerful approach to attaining physical and mental resilience welcomes new and experienced yogis alike.

Training

In 2022, I completed the 200-hr Yoga Teacher certification at Be Well Integrated Health Services, led by Tisha Giangiordano. I am presently working toward completed my Advanced 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Cindy Chiariello, Marisa Sweeney, and Tisha Giangiordano, and a Yin Yoga certification. Be Well Academy’s training programs emphasizes anatomy, accessibility, the subtle body, breathwork, meditation, myofascial release, somatic relaxation techniques, and Yogic Tantra philosophy.

Meditation

From 1998-2000, I studied Open Focus meditation and attention techniques under the guidance of Les Fehmi, PhD at The Princeton Biofeedback Centre. Open Focus is a practical and effective method for reducing stress-related symptoms and enhancing well-being, using principles developed in the field of biofeedback.

I'm also in Advertising.

Prior to my career in wellness, I served as an award-winning Creative Director at advertising agencies serving Fortune 100 clients.

My most rewarding professional project was working with life coach Martha Beck, the University of Michigan and Eli Lilly Corporation to promote a nationally recognized medicine-free symptom management program for patients with Fibromyalgia.

I enjoy using my marketing and design skills to help yoga studios, like Yoga Mechanics and BeWell, grow.

My passion for both led me to teaching.

At the college level, I taught in Kean University’s BFA Graphic Design program as an adjunct professor, empowering students to transform their concepts into a physical form.

Presently, I am completing my 95-hour Children’s Yoga Certification with Kaytee Hernandez. I look forward to helping kids practice mindfulness techniques while strengthening their little bodies. I also enjoy studying the lesser known senses, including interoception and proprioception, especially as they relate to sensory processing disorders.

When I’m not on the mat, you can find me teaching social and emotional learning skills to preschoolers with yoga in the classroom, creating art with my 8-year old daughter, and enjoying the outdoors with my husband of 10 years.

I turned to hatha yoga and meditation to help heal from chronic illnesses over 20 years ago. I hope to help guide individuals in their journey toward improved wellness, strength and balance.
